Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump are once again at the center of high-stakes diplomacy as the war in Gaza grinds on. The two leaders, who met previously in the Oval Office in April, are scheduled to sit down for another critical meeting at the White House on Monday — a discussion that could determine the future of the conflict.
Trump, who has been eager to project himself as a dealmaker on the world stage, promised over the weekend that “something special” is coming for Gaza, raising expectations that his administration is nearing completion of its ambitious 21-point ceasefire and post-war governance framework. The plan reportedly includes a ceasefire, the release of all hostages held by Hamas, and a roadmap for rebuilding Gaza under international supervision — a proposal the White House believes could set the stage for an eventual resolution to one of the world’s most intractable conflicts.
“We have a real chance for GREATNESS IN THE MIDDLE EAST,” Trump declared on his social media platform Sunday. “ALL ARE ON BOARD FOR SOMETHING SPECIAL, FIRST TIME EVER. WE WILL GET IT DONE!!!”
